“Don’t shoot into the Sun!” … they say. ”Bulls#!t!” says I … “I do it all the time!” (Ain’t I a mess?) There’s no trick to this shot or post-manipulation – parts of it are just over-exposed. It was shot into the rising sun, and exposing for the guys on the rocks caused all the early-morning light down in the valley to “blow out” that part of the image.
This can be tricky to do and you never really know what you’ll get – but I like the results of this shot … there’s something ethereal about it. Taken at Stout’s Point, Petit Jean State Park, Arkansas.
