Canadian Goose

Canadian Goose

(Branta canadensis) I got curious and learned a bit about these things:  They come in three sizes – small, medium and large.  They all look identical, regardless of size and gender – except the females tend to be slightly lighter and have a different honk.  Only the “small and medium” ones migrate annually – the large ones tend to find a place they like and stay put as long as the conditions suit them.  That’s why they’re becoming a real nuisance in places like golf courses, public parks and anywhere there’s a pond or lake for them to occupy.
