Sweep the Back Porch 04-05-09

I call this area of Bear Cave at Petit Jean State Park “The Back Porch” (mostly because I don’t know any proper name for it – and that’s what it makes me think of).  On the extreme left of the photo is the famous “needle’s eye” passage through this massive rock formation, and near the center you see the trail sweeping down to follow it’s lower side.  The trail makes a giant figure-8 around the formation passing through this needle’s-eye in the center…
