Swinging Bridge at Caddo Gap

UPDATED INFO! :

This version of the swinging bridge was built in 1968, and it replaced an older one … which had in turn replaced older ones going back aways.   This is all that remains of it as of February 2011, and needless to say it’s not “in use” any more.  A wider-shot is below…

There apparently used to be a small park on the west side of the river – but the land is now owned by a church group and closed to the public.  The odd red roof you see is a small cabin built on stilts…
