Southern Catalpa Blossom

Southern Catalpa

Southern Catalpa (Catalpa bignonioides) is also called a “Cigar Tree” because it produces long, bean-like seed pods that turn brown and look a bit like cigars.  For a short time in Spring, it also produces these fancy blossoms.
