A late Autumn sunrise with Winter just a week away.
Nature’s first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold
Her early leaf’s a flower
But only so an hour
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So Eden sank to grief
So dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay
“Wing” is a small community about 3.5 miles west of Rover, Arkansas – though I’m afraid I can find virtually no reference to it on the ‘net or elsewhere, and it’s only named on one of my many maps of Arkansas. It isn’t even listed as a township or unincorporated community of Yell County. (Map below.)
This old church is hard to miss, though – and it’s simply named “Wing Community Church” without specifying a denomination. Taken in late December of 2013, I like the tones in this color version better than the B/W conversion I usually make of shots like this.
Update 4/23/2017 : I’ve added a panorama shot of this location taken in April of 2017, and it includes a B/W version. See it here!
