Old Forester
This is almost all that’s left of “Forester, Arkansas” – a company town that literally shut-down and vanished.The log pond and the concrete bones of the old sawmill can be seen here.This is a haunting and compelling place that I’ve returned to many times – follow the Forester tag.

Onyx Landmark Church
It took me a while to discover the name of this is the “Onyx Landmark Missionary Baptist Church”.It’s in Onyx, Arkansas – and that’s the South Fork of the Fourche La Fave River…I don’t know how they get to the place when the river is high. Map below.
