This version of the swinging bridge was built in 1968, and it replaced an older one … which had in turn replaced older ones going back aways. This is all that remains of it as of February 2011, and needless to say it’s not “in use” any more. A wider-shot is below…
A couple of photos of the Big Dam Bridge, which spans both the Arkansas River and the Murray Lock & Dam in Little Rock. It’s open to pedestrian and bike traffic only and connects two riverside parks in a giant horseshoe-like ramp across the river.

This is one of those “found shots” on some abandoned tracks – and I couldn’t get more square-on to it without falling off of a small trestle over a creek.
