Burial Mound – Toltec State Park
An ancient burial mound – appropriate enough for the last day of Winter, 2013…
This mound at Toltec Mounds State Park in central Arkansas was built by the Plumb Bayou culture between 650 A.D. and 1050 A.D., and it’s rounded-top indicates it is a burial mound – different from the larger, flat-toppedĀ ceremonialĀ mounds also found at this site. Color version below…
